Did you know that for the past few years, it has been possible to have sex at a distance? You don't hear about phone-sex, heated messages with your partner or hot video conferencing! We're talking about really feeling everything that sex with your partner involves, even when you're thousands of miles away from each other.Distance is certainly a problem for the survival of many couples. Because even if the heart is there, it is sometimes difficult for the body to stay several months, or even years, without feeling the warmth of your partner and without experiencing the pleasures of a good session under the duvet. Despite the development of a certain tendency to live separately (

1.2 million people in France declare that they are not settled with their spouses), the reality of the body's needs remains undeniable. To enable couples to keep the flame burning, a Taiwanese company developed a few years ago a connected sextoy that allows couples to make love at a distance.

The precursory concept of LovePalz

At a time when ICTs are penetrating all sectors, what better than digital technology to help fill the gap created by the absence of a girlfriend or fiancé? At least, that's the idea that Onie Chen, a Taiwanese engineer who lived in London and left his girlfriend in Taiwan, had when he created LovePalz.

This electronic sextoy provides users with the same sensations as those experienced during sex.The tool works with a transmit-receive system composed of a multitude of sensors and is controlled through an iOS application running on iPhone or iPad. The terminals are designed in pairs, each part being named Zeus for the male terminal and Hera for the female terminal. For the design company, the LovePalz must be able to become an everyday object and thus go unnoticed if you happen to forget it on the table. This is why the engineer thought of a simplistic design in the form of a stainless steel tube.

Even for singles, it also works

When it's not the life of a distant couple that creates the lack, it's celibacy.

However, singles also need to feel human warmth and enjoy the joys of tender body-to-body contact. That's why the designers associated the LovePalz application with a kind of dating site. Thanks to this association, even singles will be able to find a partner anywhere in the world. The result? It will certainly be much better compared to hours spent looking at scantily clad women on Instagram or on dedicated sites.Launched in 2021, the LovePalz tool hasn't really conquered the market.

But it is still available on platforms such as AliExpress, even though it is now facing strong competition from newcomers in the field such as Kissenger, Pillow Talk, Fuse or Hush & Lush.
